Privacy Policy

Onpu ("we") respects your privacy. We designed our App to store as little of your data as possible. Most of your data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

  • No Tracking: We do not track your location, browsing history, or sell your personal data to advertisers.
  • No Private Database Access: Your saved lyrics and vocabulary are stored in your private iCloud container (CloudKit). We cannot read, view, or access your saved content.

2. Data We Process

To provide the App's core functionality, we process the following:

  • Text Inputs: When you request a translation or analysis, the text you input is transmitted to our backend and then to our third-party AI partners (Google Gemini) for processing. This is necessary to generate the linguistic data.
  • Metadata: We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., app crashes, feature usage counts) via Apple’s standard telemetry or privacy-preserving analytics to improve the App.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following trusted third parties to operate the App:

  • Apple CloudKit: For data synchronization and storage. (See Apple's Privacy Policy)
  • Google Gemini (via Vertex AI): For linguistic analysis and translation. Text inputs are sent to Google's servers for processing. We do not opt-in to allowing your data to be used for training their models, and the data is transient.

4. GDPR Rights (EU Users)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access/Delete: Since your content is stored in your personal iCloud, you have full control. You can delete your data by deleting the content inside the App or deleting the App itself.
  • Withdraw Consent: You can stop using the AI features at any time.

5. International Transfers

The AI providers we use may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), specifically in the United States. By using the App, you acknowledge this transfer is necessary for the App's functionality.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Continued use of the App after changes implies acceptance.
